Through the well-known phrase Flower Power, the pictorial frame appeals, on the one hand, to an antithesis that suggests the existence of a tension, a drama, an armed conflict, on the other hand, to a cliché that indicates a persistence of some cultural forms in relation with this conflict. In a universe of immediate media coverage, the resumption of the terms of the antithesis slips between tragedy and fashion, a fact that contributes to its defusing.
